Important publication note. These Terms govern the website and online enquiry journey. They are not intended to replace RMS workshop job cards, quotations, customer authorisations, repair terms or warranty terms. RMS management and a suitably qualified South African legal adviser should reconcile those documents before publication.

1. Introduction and acceptance
These Website Terms and Conditions govern use of the RMS Automotive Group website at rmsbosch.co.za. The website provides information about RMS automotive workshops and services and enables users to submit enquiries and booking requests.
By using the website, a user agrees to comply with these Terms to the extent applicable to that use. These Terms are intended to operate consistently with South African law, including the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 (CPA) and the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 (ECTA).
Nothing in these Terms is intended to remove or unlawfully limit a right that a consumer has under applicable South African law.
2. Definitions
“RMS” means the applicable RMS website operator and, where the context requires, the relevant RMS workshop or legal entity. The exact legal entities must be confirmed before publication.
“RMS Automotive Group” is a business or trading description and does not, by itself, confirm that all RMS workshops are operated by a single registered company.
“Website” means rmsbosch.co.za and its pages and online functions.
“User” means a person who accesses or uses the Website.
“Customer” means a person dealing with an RMS workshop in relation to an automotive service or repair.
“Workshop” means the RMS location selected by or relevant to the customer.
“Booking enquiry” means a request submitted through the Website asking RMS to contact the user or consider a requested service date. It is not necessarily a confirmed appointment.
“Services” means the automotive servicing, maintenance, inspection, diagnostic and repair services offered by the relevant workshop.
3. Website purpose
The Website provides information about RMS, automotive servicing and repairs, workshops and locations, contact facilities, booking and fleet enquiry functionality, general automotive educational content and links or integrations that assist users in communicating with or locating an RMS workshop.
Service descriptions are general. Not every workshop necessarily provides every service or specialisation.
4. Booking Confirmation
Submitting a Website booking form does not, by itself, guarantee or confirm a workshop appointment. The submission is a booking enquiry.
A requested date remains subject to workshop capacity, technician availability, the type of work requested, vehicle requirements, specialist equipment requirements and any further information needed from the customer.
A booking becomes confirmed only when the relevant RMS workshop communicates that the appointment has been accepted or confirmed through the applicable booking process. An automated website message confirming receipt of a form is not, by itself, confirmation of an appointment or repair contract.
5. Service availability
RMS workshops may have different capabilities, locations and service focuses. A service displayed on the Website may therefore not be available at every location, specialist work may be limited to selected workshops, and appointment availability may vary.
RMS may contact the customer for additional information before recommending or confirming a workshop. No accreditation, service specialisation, warranty or customer benefit should be treated as universally applicable unless it is expressly confirmed for the relevant workshop.
6. Vehicle and customer information
Users should provide accurate information to the best of their knowledge, including contact details, vehicle make and model, preferred workshop, requested service, known symptoms or problems, warning-light information and preferred booking date.
Incomplete or inaccurate information may affect RMS's ability to guide the customer or confirm an appropriate booking. A customer's website description of a vehicle problem does not replace a physical inspection, diagnostic test or technician assessment where one is reasonably required.
7. Quotes and Estimates
General prices, examples, descriptions or information on the Website do not constitute a binding workshop quotation unless RMS expressly identifies the information as a formal quotation applicable to the specific vehicle and circumstances.
The actual scope and cost of automotive work may depend on vehicle make, model and specification, vehicle condition, mileage, diagnostic findings, labour requirements, required materials or components, previous work and the scope authorised by the customer.
Where inspection or diagnostic work is necessary before an accurate scope can be determined, the relevant workshop should explain the applicable process and charges where required by law.
These Website Terms do not replace RMS workshop quotations, estimates, job cards or repair-authorisation documentation.
8. Additional work
Submitting a Website booking does not authorise RMS to carry out unlimited additional repairs or incur unrestricted additional cost.
Where additional work or additional cost is identified after inspection, servicing or diagnosis, the relevant workshop must follow applicable law and its customer-authorisation procedure. Where the CPA requires additional estimated charges or work to be communicated and authorised, RMS must obtain the required authorisation before proceeding.
Any customer pre-authorisation should be clear about its scope and, where relevant, its maximum amount.
9. Pricing
Automotive service and repair pricing may vary according to the vehicle, vehicle specification, work required, labour time, diagnostic findings, materials or components required, specialist requirements and the scope authorised by the customer.
If RMS publishes a specific promotional or service price, material conditions, exclusions and availability must be communicated clearly and must not be misleading. These Terms do not permit RMS to impose an unfair unilateral price increase.
10. Warranties
Any RMS commercial warranty relating to workshop work must be confirmed from the applicable quotation, job card, warranty document or authorised RMS policy. A warranty may depend on the type of repair, nature of the work, component fitted, supplier or manufacturer warranty, applicable workshop, quotation or job-card terms and applicable consumer law.
Verified RMS workmanship warranty:[INSERT VERIFIED RMS WORKMANSHIP WARRANTY]
Verified component / supplier warranty:[INSERT VERIFIED WARRANTY]
These placeholders must not be completed until the terms have been verified. Any RMS commercial warranty is additional to, and does not unlawfully replace, statutory rights under the CPA.
11. Consumer rights
Nothing in these Terms excludes a right that cannot lawfully be excluded, requires a consumer to waive a statutory right, removes remedies available under the CPA, excludes liability where South African law does not permit exclusion, or prevents a consumer from using an applicable statutory complaint or dispute-resolution process.
12. Accuracy of website information
RMS will make reasonable efforts to keep material website information accurate and current. Workshop hours, staff availability, services, appointment capacity, vehicle requirements and external map information may change.
RMS should correct material inaccuracies that come to its attention within a reasonable period. This clause does not permit misleading representations. Users should confirm time-sensitive workshop information directly with the relevant location where necessary.
13. Automotive information disclaimer
Advice articles, FAQs, symptom descriptions and other educational content are general information. A symptom may have more than one possible cause and website content is not a substitute for professional inspection, diagnostic testing, physical assessment, manufacturer-specific technical information or appropriate repair.
Where a vehicle presents an immediate safety concern, the user should not rely solely on Website content in deciding whether the vehicle is safe to drive.
14. Third-party links and services
The Website may link to or use third-party services such as Google Maps, Google review functionality, WhatsApp, social-media platforms or other external services. Those platforms operate independently and may have their own terms, privacy practices and availability.
RMS is responsible for its own content and conduct but does not control every aspect of an independently operated third-party service. A link does not necessarily amount to endorsement of all content available through that service.
15. Intellectual property
Unless otherwise stated, original RMS Website material such as RMS-created text, layout, graphics, RMS-owned photography, videos, campaign material and other original content is owned by or lawfully licensed to the applicable RMS entity and is protected by applicable intellectual-property law.
Users may view the content for normal personal and business information purposes but may not unlawfully reproduce, sell, exploit, republish or use RMS-owned content in a misleading manner.
Bosch and third-party intellectual property
RMS does not claim ownership of Bosch trademarks, Bosch logos or intellectual property belonging to Robert Bosch GmbH or another Bosch entity. Bosch and other third-party trademarks, brand assets and logos remain the property of their respective owners and are displayed only where RMS has the applicable right, relationship or permission. The same principle applies to RMI, MIWA and other third-party certification, accreditation, partner or service-provider marks.
16. Prohibited website use
A user must not use the Website to commit unlawful acts or fraud, impersonate another person, knowingly submit malicious information, introduce malware, attempt unauthorised access, interfere with Website security or operation, conduct abusive automated activity, bypass security controls, or use RMS branding to mislead others.
Scraping or automated extraction that materially interferes with the Website, infringes rights or bypasses controls is prohibited. Reasonable search-engine indexing and normal browser access are not prohibited.
17. Reviews and user-submitted content
The Website may display customer reviews, testimonials or ratings, some of which may originate from third-party services such as Google. Where a review comes from a third-party platform, that platform may apply its own verification indicators and RMS does not necessarily independently verify every factual statement made by the reviewer.
RMS should not materially alter a review in a way that misrepresents its meaning. Where RMS publishes testimonials supplied directly by customers, appropriate permission should be obtained for any identifying personal information or images used.
18. Privacy
Personal information collected through the Website is handled in accordance with the separate RMS Automotive Group Privacy Policy and applicable law. The Privacy Policy should be easily accessible from forms, the footer and other relevant collection points.
Read the Privacy Policy →
19. Website security
RMS should use reasonable security measures appropriate to the Website and information processed. RMS cannot guarantee uninterrupted or completely error-free Website operation or absolute security of internet communications. This clause does not reduce any security obligation imposed on RMS by POPIA or other law.
20. Electronic communications
Communications may be submitted through Website forms, email, WhatsApp and other Website facilities. A message submitted electronically should not automatically be interpreted as RMS accepting a booking, quotation, repair, appointment, contract or contractual variation.
Where acceptance is required, the relevant RMS workshop must communicate acceptance through the applicable process. If RMS later introduces binding online checkout, deposits or other electronically concluded transactions, these Terms and the Website's ECTA disclosures must be reviewed before launch.
21. Promotions and competitions
RMS may run promotions, prize campaigns or competitions from time to time. Each promotion may have separate terms dealing with eligibility, entry requirements, campaign period, prizes, winner selection, exclusions, publicity and redemption.
Where promotion-specific terms apply, they govern that promotion to the extent relevant, subject to applicable law. These general Website Terms do not constitute the complete rules for any particular competition.
22. External payment functionality
At the time these Terms were drafted, the Website is described as providing enquiry and booking-request functionality rather than direct online payment. These Terms therefore do not create online payment terms.
If RMS later introduces card payments, EFT gateways, deposits, embedded payment links, online checkout or similar functionality, the payment terms, consumer disclosures, security measures, cancellation provisions and ECTA requirements must be independently reviewed before launch.
23. Limitation of liability
These Terms relate primarily to Website use and should not be used as a substitute for carefully drafted workshop liability provisions.
To the extent permitted by South African law, RMS will not ordinarily be responsible for loss caused solely by a user's unlawful or fraudulent Website use, malicious software introduced by a user, the independent failure of a third-party platform outside RMS's reasonable control, or a user's decision to rely exclusively on general Website advice where professional vehicle assessment is reasonably required.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, statutory consumer rights, liability for gross negligence where exclusion is prohibited, obligations arising from RMS's actual workshop services, or remedies otherwise available under the CPA or applicable law.
24. Indemnity
These Website Terms do not impose a broad consumer indemnity in favour of RMS. Users remain legally responsible for their own unlawful conduct and any liability arising from that conduct to the extent provided by law.
25. Terms Updates
RMS may update Website content or these Terms for legitimate reasons including legal developments, operational changes, technology changes, service changes and Website improvements. The current Terms should display their effective date and last-updated date.
Changes should not retrospectively deprive a consumer of rights that arose under an existing transaction or agreement. Material changes affecting an existing customer arrangement should be handled through the appropriate contractual process rather than relying solely on an updated webpage.
26. Governing law
These Website Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. This does not remove any statutory jurisdiction, forum or remedy available to a consumer under applicable law.
27. Complaints and dispute resolution
RMS encourages customers to raise concerns with the relevant workshop or RMS contact point first so that the matter can be investigated and, where possible, resolved.
Complaints email: [INSERT COMPLAINTS EMAIL]
Telephone: [INSERT TELEPHONE]
Address: [INSERT POSTAL / PHYSICAL ADDRESS]
Nothing in these Terms prevents a consumer from using any legally available route, including the National Consumer Commission, an applicable provincial consumer authority, a competent industry dispute-resolution body, the National Consumer Tribunal where jurisdiction exists, the Information Regulator for privacy or PAIA matters, or a competent court.
28. Severability
If a provision of these Terms is found invalid or unenforceable, it should be interpreted or severed only to the extent necessary. The remaining lawful provisions continue to apply. A severability clause does not make an otherwise unlawful consumer term valid.
